My songbooks contain two types of music: one of original songs that I composed and another of songs others have written. All songbooks can be purchased with an accompanying CD of the songs contained within the book.
"The Songbook for the Native American Flute" contains original songs written only using six notes, the notes of the flutes natural scale. This songbook helps the player develop a good foundation without becoming to demanding technically.
The songbook "Journey" contains original songs that use more notes making the tunes more musically interesting, but does not use extreme high notes or notes that are to be played using a half-hole fingering. Extreme high notes and half-hole notes are difficult to play and on some low-keyed flutes impossible to play.
The remaining songbooks, "Songbook of Favorite Hymn Melodies", "Christmas Fluting" and "Remembrance" use whatever notes the songs demand, and are best played on a high A, B or C flute. All melodies were written by others and for the most part are very familiar and enjoyed by many.
